17 Year Old Grand Island Male Shot During Drug Deal
On Monday officers with the Grand Island Police Department were dispatched to Super Saver (710 W State St) in reference to gunshots being heard.
Multiple 9mm shell casings were located in the parking lot of Super Saver.
A short time later, a juvenile male showed up at the St Francis Emergency Room with multiple gunshot wounds. He advised he was shot in the
parking lot of Super Saver and a juvenile male was with him. A juvenile male was later located walking in the area of 13th St/Clark St.
He told officers he and the other juvenile male were in the Super Saver parking lot to sell Marijuana.
During the drug deal the marijuana purchasers tried to rob him and a physical altercation ensued.
He stated during the altercation one of the purchasers brandished a handgun and shot the other juvenile.
He stated he rapidly drove his vehicle away from the scene with the shot juvenile and while en route to the Emergency room, his gun and the marijuana he possessed were tossed out the window of his vehicle.
The marijuana and the firearm were later recovered by law enforcement.
A records check was later ran on the 17 year old juvenile male and his Nebraska driver's license was found to be revoked.
He was later transported to Hall County Corrections, where he was booked in for Possession of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Distribute while in
Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm to Juvenile, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun by Juvenile and Driving During Suspension.
