Auditions Being Held for the Next GILT Show

Grand Island Little Theatre

Grand Island Little Theatre is announcing auditions for the spring show of the 2025-2026 season, “An Old-Fashioned Family Murder”, a murder mystery by Joe DiPietro.

Audition dates are Monday February 9 and Tuesday February 10 6:30 to 8PM at College Park, 3180 West US Highway 34, Grand Island. Use the backstage double doors, located on the southwest corner of the auditorium, Door #3. Production dates are April 10-12 and 17-19, 2026.

A murder. A mystery. A mother. It’s a dark and stormy night at the mansion of elderly Colonel Claythorne, and the pompous murder-mystery author Arthur Whittington is holding court with the Colonel’s family: his eldest daughter, Clarice, who is cold and glamorous; Clarice’s attractive fiancé, Jasper; Claythorne’s youngest daughter, Dotty, who is a big fan of Whittington’s; and Mrs. Shirley Peck, an unassuming but keenly observant visiting widow. When Whittington shares the news that the Colonel has modified his will to cut out one of his daughters – though which daughter won‘t be revealed until the Colonel’s death – tempers flare. By the time Mrs. Peck’s son (junior)

Detective Paul Peck arrives at the house, there’s been a murder, and everyone is a suspect. With backstabbing, love, and Mrs. Peck’s mother-knows-best advice complicating the investigation, it soon becomes clear that nothing – and no one – is what it seems.

Cast needed includes 3 women (can play ages 20 and up) and 3 men (can play ages 20 and up). Folks auditioning will be asked to read from a script, that will be provided.

Directors are Jeri Lorenz and Norbert Wenzl. Jeannee Fossberg is Producer. If you are interested in auditioning, but have conflicts with the dates, or have any questions, please contact Jeri 308-383-4117 or Norbert 308-383-7829.  Backstage help is needed. If interested, stop by auditions or contact one of the directors, or Producer Jeannee Fossberg 308-379-2015. From set construction to script prompting to ushering, they will find a job for you that will be fun.
