Aurora BB takes a pair at Waverly
The Aurora basketball teams earned a pair of double digit wins at Waverly on Friday.
In the girls game, Aurora used a dominating defensive performance for a 42-22 win. The Huskies held the Vikings to 1-16 from the field in the first half to build a 13 point lead. Waverly didn't hit a two-point field goal until there was 6:36 left in the game. Grace Wiesler scored a season high 10. Kaitlyn Staer also added 10 for the Huskies.
The Aurora girls get their crack at Malcolm, a 19-1 C1 team on Saturday. The varsity begins at 3:30 at the Aurora Middle School complex. Listen to the post game conversation with Scott Phillips on 97.3 the Wolf.

The Aurora boys scored the final four points of the third quarter and the first nine of the fourth to pull away for a 59-46 win. Cannon Allen put in a layup with five seconds to go, stole the inbounds and was fouled in the act of shooting. He added two more free throws to give the Huskies the lead heading into the fourth. Allen scored 17 of his game-high 21 in the second half. Jaxson Slagle added a season high 20 for Aurora.
