Rosencrantz gym was dripping with history on Tuesday as Aurora downed Northwest in four sets

Making her first appearance as visiting coach, Michaela Perry was honored as part of the 2025-26 Northwest Athletic Hall of Fame class.

She shared the Northwest night with former teammate Katie Placke, contributor Barb Huls, and the 2003 state championship team.

Perry's Huskies then proceeded to win their biggest match in a few years. After Northwest took the first, Aurora never trailed in dominating the second. Northwest rallied from seven down in the third to take a 20-18 lead, but The Huskies outscored the Vikings 7-1 to close it down. Aurora took a 12-4 in the fourth and held on for the win.

Kaitlyn Staehr had 17 kills to pace Aurora. Trinity Urmacher had 28 digs and 26 serve receptions. Hailey Hoff contributed 28 set assists, served the most points, and had three aces.

Northwest's Kenna Bowman had 36 set assists to break the Northwest career mark previously held by Lyndi Rouzee. Ava Janulewicz had 15 kills. Elli Payne posted 14.

Northwest will be at Kearney Catholic on Thursday on 103.1 2-Day-FM.

Aurora hosts Central City on Thursday and has an invitational Saturday. Next coverage of the Huskies will be next Thursday at North Platte on 97.3 the Wolf.
