Aurora VB Battles Past Blair in B2 District Semi UPDATE

District final time has been changed to 11am.

The Aurora Volleyball team responded to a disappointing first set loss to down Blair 3-1 in the B2 District Semifinal at the Aurora Sports Complex. The Huskies trailed 24-19 before scoring five straight to tie. Aurora fought off seven set points before finally falling 28-26.  

The Huskies jumped to a 9-2 lead in the second and held on 25-21. Aurora trailed 7-2 in the third, but went on an 18-5 run and won 25-18. The Huskies closed out the Bears in the fourth 25-20. 

Five Huskies hit double figures in kills. Elizabeth Luebbe and Kaitlyn Staehr each had 16. Kenna Merrihew and Grace Wieseler contributed 11. Evelyn Kraus had 10. 

Hailey Hoff served 23 points and had 55 set assists. Trinity Urmacher had 26 digs and 27 serve receptions. Paityn Wyatt and 11 digs and 19 serve receptions. 

The Huskies battle top seed Elkhorn North for the right to go to state at 11am Saturday. Pre-match coverage begins at 10:45 on 97.3 the Wolf.
