Aurora Volleyball Sweeps GICC Monday Night

(Grand Island, NE) - The Aurora volleyball team would pick up their second match win of the season on Monday night defeating Grand Island Central Catholic in straight sets 25-20, 25-18, 25-22. Freshman Kaitlyn Staehr would lead Aurora with 12 kills on the night. Elizabeth Luebbe and Kenna Merrihew would each chip in 8 kills a piece for first-year head coach Michaela Perry. 

Central Catholic would get an 11-kill performance from Maggie Herbek and 9 kills from Grace Johnson. Oakley Todd would have 5 kills in the match for the Crusaders. 

Aurora is now 2-6 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday, September 10th hosting Holdrege. GICC is now 1-3 on the season and will host a triangular on Thursday, September 12th with Sutton and Doniphan Trumbull.
