Buffalo County Announces Enforcement Results

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a National Speeding Prevention High-Visibility Enforcement Mobilization campaign conducted throughout Buffalo County. The campaign was funded through a Mini-Grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. The activity was conducted from July 14 – 31, 2025 with deputies accounting for 60.75 hours of additional coverage.

As a whole Sheriff’s deputies had a total of 233 traffic contacts -- 37 citations were issued for speeding violations, an additional 25 citations were issued for other traffic violations. Deputies issued 171 warning/defect cards for various infractions. During the campaign there were 7 citations issued for Engaging in a Speed Contest, 3 Careless Driving citations, 2 Exhibition Driving citations, 1 arrest for Driving under Suspension, 1 citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 1 citation for Possession of Marijuana less than an ounce and 1 citation for Open Alcohol Container.

The primary objective of the campaign was to reduce speed-related fatality accidents in Buffalo County. We are sending this News Release as a service to the news media and citizens of Buffalo County.
