Buffalo County Make It Click Results

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a Make it Click Mobilization Selective Traffic Enforcement campaign conducted throughout Buffalo County. The campaign was funded through a Mini-Grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. The activity was conducted from November 23 – December 2, 2024 with deputies accounting for 33 hours of additional coverage.

Sheriff’s deputies had a total of 130 traffic contacts -- 28 citations were issued for various traffic violations and 102 warning/defect cards were issued for various infractions. During the campaign there were 2 citations issued for a violation of a Safety Belt and 1 for Child Restraint violation. Deputies made 1 arrest for Driving under Influence and issued 3 citations for No Proof of Insurance.

The primary objective of the campaign was to increase seat belt usage rates in Buffalo County, and thereby reducing serious injuries and fatalities in traffic accidents. We are sending this News Release as a service to the news media and citizens of Buffalo County.
