Carey Named to 2026 Brooks Wallace Award Watch List

Senior Dylan Carey was named to the 2026 Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, the College Baseball Foundation announced Wednesday morning.

The award honors the nation’s top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980.

The Castle Rock, Colo., native ranks fifth nationally with 23 hits and has recorded a 1.281 OPS through 11 games this season, making him one of four players in the country with an OPS above 1.270 in at least 50 at-bats.

Carey is batting .460 with six doubles, a triple, three home runs, 17 RBI and nine runs scored to lead the Husker offense. He has totaled nine multi-hit games and four multi-RBI performances this season.
