Cats fall on road at Adams Central

The St. Paul/Palmer Cats closed out the reguar season Tuesday afternoon with a trip to historic Duncan Field as they took on the Adams Central Patriots.
The Cats got off to quick start bringing home the first run of the contest as Alex Meinecke scored Zandyn Weller from 2nd on a bloop single to take the early 1-0 lead.
The bottom of the first proved to be the difference maker in the contest as the Cats were able to get 2 quick outs for Levi Bader and looked to get out of the first unscathed but a Catchers Interference call on what would be the 3rd out of the inning would keep the inning alive and the Patriots capitalized on the mistake bringing 2 runs across to take the 2-1 lead. The Pats scored 8 unanswered runs before the Cats were able to get back on the board with 2 runs in the 5th. AC would take one of those runs back in the bottom of the 5th to round out the scoring at 9-3.
The Loss drops St. Paul Palmer to 9-7 on the year while Adams Central improves to 19-6 and gives each team a split in the series with the home team winning each game as the Cats won earlier this year at Home 6-5.
It'll be a quick turn around for the Cats as they will be right back at Duncan Field on Thursday to take on the 6-14 Arlington Eagles in the opening round of the C-4 District Tournament at 1pm on 97-3 the Wolf. The other matchup will feature Host Adams Central taking on Fairbury at 4pm.
