Central City runs past St. Paul
The Central City Bison pick up their 28th win of the season Monday afternoon defeating the St. Paul Wildcats by a final score of 11-0 in 4 innings at the Bill Smith Softball Complex in Hastings. With the loss St. Paul's record falls to 15-10, all but ending their season as the Cats will have to wait for Sub-District Softball results to play out to see if they will sneak into a Wildcard slot for a District Final on Friday.
The first inning went scoreless between the two teams before Central City batted through the order in the 2nd inning to take a 6-0 lead going into the 3rd. The Bison picked up right where they left off bringing 5 more runs across the plate before St. Paul would be sat down in order to end the contest.
Jerzie Schindler gets the win in the circle for the Bison throwing 4 innings allowing 1 hit while striking out 10 in the contest. For St. Paul, Charlee Wegner takes the loss for St. Paul allowing 11 runs on 6 hits, throwing 3 strikeouts and giving up 4 walks.
District Final Matchups will be announced on Tuesday.
