Creighton Baseball Downs South Dakota State, 1-0

Omaha, Neb. -- Getting seven shutout innings from Ian Koosman was the boost Creighton Baseball needed as the Bluejays bested South Dakota State 1-0 on Tuesday, March 18.
The win moved Creighton to 11-5 on the season, while South Dakota State fell to 2-14.
Koosman was brilliant in the longest appearance of the season for a Bluejay pitcher, allowing just two hits and one walk in seven frames. He struck out nine batters, needing just 85 pitches as the Minnesota native faced 26 batters as he moved to 2-2 on the season with the win. Jimmy Burke tossed a flawless eighth, while Bluejay closer Garrett Langrell earned his fourth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
The lone run of the game came in the fourth as Nolan Sailors laced a single up the middle, then raced to third on a one-out flare single to left by Nate McHugh. Ben North followed with an RBI knock through the right side.
Six Jackrabbit pitchers limited Creighton to four hits, three coming off losing hurler Tristan Augedahl (0-1).
Creighton returns to action on Friday, March 21 as the Bluejays begin a three-game series with the Saint Mary's Gaels at 6:00 p.m.
