Creighton Men's Basketball to Open Players Era Men's Championship at Michelob ULTRA Arena

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Creighton Men's Basketball's games in Las Vegas against Baylor and Iowa State at the Players Era Men's Championship will take place inside Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay, tournament organizers announced on Monday.

Michelob ULTRA Arena seats approximately12,000 fans and is the home arena for the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces. It will be Creighton's first games at Michelob ULTRA Arena since December of 2022, when it faced BYU and Arizona State in a pair of one-possession games.

Players Era also announced an extension of its distribution partnership with TNT Sports, which will serve as the exclusive U.S. broadcast partner for both the Players Era Men’s and Women’s Championships, airing games on TNT, truTV and HBO Max.

Earlier this month it was announced the Bluejays will play Baylor at 1 p.m. Central on Monday, Nov. 24th, followed by a game against Iowa State a day later on Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Central. 

Creighton's third game in the event will take place on either Nov. 26 or Nov. 27 depending on what seed the team earns after its first two games. That game could take place at either Michelob ULTRA Arena or MGM Grand Garden Arena, and will be determined the evening of Nov. 25th.

 

Players Era Men’s Championship Schedule and Format
The first two days of the Men’s Championship will be pre-set, with Wednesday’s championship day matchups determined following the outcome of the first two days of competition. Teams that win their first two games – and based on the matchups there could be as many as six teams that go 2-0 – will be the first to qualify for Players Era Championship and Third-Place game matchups, followed by teams that go 1-1. The Men’s Championship Game will take place Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8:30 PM (CST).

As with last year’s inaugural tournament, every second of every game will count, as championship seeding and any tie breaks – either for more than four undefeated teams, or a 1-1 team filling out the top four – will be determined by point differential, points scored and points allowed.
