Green Bay, Wis. -- Blazing from the start senior Molly Mogensen scored 18 first half points to lead Creighton Women's Basketball to a 74-52 win at Green Bay on Saturday, December 14.

The win lifted the Bluejays to 8-2 on the season, Creighton's seventh consecutive win. Green Bay, meanwhile, fell to 7-5 on the season.

Mogensen delivered the first bucket of the game, igniting a Bluejay 9-0 run to force Green Bay head coach Kayla Karius to use a timeout with 6:34 remaining. Creighton's edge grew to 11 via a layup from senior Mallory Brake before the Phoenix got on the scoreboard, but Green Bay closed the quarter strong to trim the Creighton lead to 14-8 and the end of the first.

Leading 14-12 early in the second (9:28), Mogensen fired up her troops with another mid-range jumper to start a second 9-0 run. Senior Morgan Maly led this surge with five points to push the CU advantage to 23-12 (7:18). Leading 23-18 moments later, the Bluejays went on a 14-4 push, started by a trey from freshman Allison Heathcock. Mogensen contributed nine points over the final three minutes to send the Bluejays to the locker room with a 37-22 lead at the half.

The third quarter saw the two squads trade buckets into the final third, when the Jays pushed their lead out to 54-31 with the final 10 points of the frame as seniors Jayme Horan and Brooke Littrell sandwiched treys around a pair of driving baskets by senior Lauren Jensen.

Creighton pushed the game out to a 63-36 contest with 7:43 remaining behind bench contributions from Heathcock and fellow freshman Elizabeth Gentry and cruised to the win.

Mogensen led Creighton with 18 points, while Maly contributed 17 and Jensen finished with 15. Green Bay got a game-high 19 points from Natalie McNeal in the loss.

The Bluejays return home for the first time since Nov. 22 as Creighton hosts Wyoming on Tuesday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m.
