SEWARD, Neb. – A record-breaking kick for Peyton Atwood led to recognition on Monday (Sept. 29) for the Concordia University, Nebraska Football junior. The league office has announced Atwood as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player of the Week. Atwood has been tabbed with a weekly award for the first time in his career. As a team, the Bulldogs have collected four GPAC Player of the Week awards through their first three games of the 2025 season.

A Grand Island, Neb., native and Grand Island Northwest High School alum, Atwood went 2-for-2 on field goals and 5-for-5 on PATS for a total of 11 points in Concordia’s 54-0 win at Waldorf. At the 12:05 mark of the third quarter, Atwood drilled a 50-yard field goal, breaking the previous standard of 47 yards for longest field goal in program history. The 47-yarder was made by Kenny Zoeller in 2011.

A Business Administration major, Atwood has converted 4-of-5 field goal tries and all 13 extra points this season. He also owns the program record for most PATs in a single season with the 44 he made in 2024. In his career as a Bulldog, Atwood is 12-for-16 on field goals and 93-for-100 on PATs for a total of 129 points.

Next up, No. 21 Concordia (3-0, 3-0 GPAC) will be headed to Mount Marty (3-1, 2-1 GPAC) on Saturday for a 1 p.m. CT kickoff in Yankton, S.D.
