The Big Ten Conference announced Monday afternoon that Braden Frager was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

Frager averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 72 percent from the field, including 55 percent from 3-point range, in helping Nebraska to a 2-0 week.  The Lincoln Southwest product was chosen as the MVP of the Hall of Fame Classic for his performance in helping the Huskers to a 6-0 start.

In the championship game against Kansas State, Frager had 16 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench in NU’s 86-85 win. He posted his second 20-point game of the season in the first-round win over New Mexico, finishing with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds.

Frager is the first Husker freshman to earn the weekly award since Jamarques Lawrence in 2023.

The Huskers are back in action on Tuesday night, as Nebraska takes on Winthrop. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets. The game will be televised by BTN and carried on the Huskers Radio Network.
