GI Home Federal Advances To Semi Finals Of CWS Tournament

(Omaha, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal (12-9 baseball team has advanced to the semi-finals of the Creighton Prep/CWS tournament. The Feds went 5-1 in preliminary action, only falling in one game on Friday to Millard North by a final score of 3-2. GI would bounce back on Saturday, defeating Minot by a final score of 10-0.

Out of the 30-plus team tournament, Grand Island is the only team from Nebraska to advance to the final four, which will be played at Creighton Prep. GI will take on Wayzata Post 118 (Minnesota) at Noon on Sunday. Wayzata comes in with a record of 10-2. Wayzata is coming off a Saturday win over Lincoln Southwest, 3-2. Dickinson will take on Brooklawn at 9:30 am in the first game of the semi-finals. The Championship game will take place at 2:30 pm on Sunday.
