GI Home Federal Gets Thursday Morning Win Over Prior Lake, MN

(Omaha, NE) - The Creighton Prep/CWS tournament road swing continues for the Grand Island Home Federal baseball team, claiming their 7th straight win on Thursday morning, downing Prior Lake, MN by a final score of 13-9.
GI would claim two wins to open up the tournament Wednesday, defeating Watertown, SD 9-0, and taking down Fremont 8-0.
On Thursday morning, Grand Island would get 13 runs on 11 hits and have 1 error. Prior Lake would get 9 runs on 9 hits and 1 error in the game. The game would be highlighted at the plate with Brock Cushing smacking a grand slam to end the day with 2 hits and 6 RBI's. Home Federal would also get 2 hits and 3 RBI's from Ian Arends, and 1 hit and 3 RBI's from Gavin Ruether.
On the mound for GI, it was a team-like effort getting short outings from Miles Nelson, Aldo Martinez, Sam Dinkelman, and Ethan Coslor.
Home Federal is now 10-8 on the season and will next be in action Friday, June 20th at 9:30 am against Rocky Mountain Dirtbags. Saturday, June 21st GI will take on Sheridan at Noon.
