Offense: Domestic Assault *** UPDATE ***
Victim: 20 year old female Incident #: L24031435
Offender: Joshua Martens
Date and Time of Incident: 3/17/24 @ 09:00
Location of Incident: 303 S Vine St
Brief Narrative: Party came to the police station to report a domestic assault that happened back in March of this year. Officers conducted a follow up attempt to locate Joshua Martens and placed him under arrest for 1st Degree Domestic Assault, Strangulation, 1st Degree False Imprisonment, Terroristic Threats and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony.

Location of Incident: 257 S Kimball
Brief Narrative: GIPD Officers responded to 257 S Kimball Ave to a disturbance call for service. The victim made contact with several juveniles who were allegedly trespassing. Additional witnesses reported that the juvenile male had threatened the victim, indicating that he intended to return with a firearm. Victim did not want to pursue criminal charges.

Location of Incident: 840 N Diers
Brief Narrative: Bank manager reported male customer attempted to cash a check after providing a New York ID card. When the manager was in the process of contacting the business where the check was from, the male left without the check. Case is open.

Victim: Pinnacle Bank Incident #: L24041560
Date and Time of Incident: 4/19/24 @ 10:29
Location of Incident: 106 E 3rd St
Brief Narrative: On 4-19-24 Pinnacle Bank on W 3rd St reported an attempted forgery involving two separate checks with two separate suspects. Both suspects fled before obtaining any money. Investigation is ongoing.

Offense: Sexual Assault
Victim: 16 year old female Incident #: L24041584
Date and Time of Incident: between 1/1/20 & 1/1/23
Location of Incident: Within City Limits
Brief Narrative: Female juvenile reports she experienced forced, unwanted, sexual contact sometime before January of 2023 at an unknown Grand Island location. Case is under investigation.

Victim: Bomgaars Incident #: L24041568
Date and Time of Incident: between 4/18/24 & 4/19/24
Location of Incident: 515 S Webb Rd
Brief Narrative: On 4-19-2024 at around 12:14 pm officer responded to the listed above location reference a flatbed trailer having the hitch lock cut and trailer stolen. The reporting party advised that the trailer was last seen parked in the parking lot outside the business around 10:00 pm on 4-18-2024. The estimated cost for the trailer is listed at $3,000. Case is open.

Offense: Burglary
Victim: Edwards Audio Incident #: L24041680
Offender: Corey Romero
Date and Time of Incident: 4/20/24 @ 03:00
Location of Incident: 618 W 3rd St
Brief Narrative: On 4-20-2024 at or around 0844 hrs, Officers responded to 618 W 3rd Street (Edwards Audio) in reference to a burglary call for service. It was reported around 0300 hrs an individual cut a hole through a garage door and gained entry into the building. Various items of value were taken from inside. Video footage indicated an individual enters the building at two different times and takes items of value.

During the course of the investigation, Officers were able to establish a vehicle description and locate the vehicle seen leaving the scene. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers contacted the driver, Corey Romero. Various items of stolen property was located inside the vehicle to include a grinder used to forcibly enter the building. A search warrant was later conducted a Corey's residence in which additional stolen property was located. Corey would later admit to stealing the items of value from Edwards Audio.

A search incident to arrest of his person officers located drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Corey was unable to provide insurance for the vehicle he had the immediate right of possession too. Corey was arrested for Burglary x 2, Possession of Burglar Tools, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Proof of Financial Responsibility.

Victim: Incident #: L24041722
Offender: Zachary C Clausen
Date and Time of Incident: 4/20/24 @ 20:16
Location of Incident: W Koenig & S Tilden
Brief Narrative: Zachary C Clausen was contacted on a traffic stop near the intersection of Koenig St and Tilden St, after he was observed to be driving with expired plates. Officers observed Zachary to have a pipe, that from the officer’s training and experience, is commonly used to ingest methamphetamines. Officers asked Zachary to step out of the vehicle and was searched, and no contraband was found. Zachary admitted to having methamphetamine in the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle for contraband. During a search of the vehicle, a crystalline substance was located near the center console. Also from the officer’s training and experience, the crystalline substance was consistent with methamphetamines. An administrative check showed Zachary was driving while suspended, and the vehicle he was operating, had no valid registration, or proof of insurance. Zachary consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and showed signs of impairment. Zachary provided a passing PBT sample, and was transported to LEC for a DRE evaluation, where he showed  further signs of impairment. Zachary was subsequently arrested for Possess Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia, No Valid Registration, Driving During Revocation, No Proof of Insurance and DUI-Drugs

Victim: 44 year old female Incident #: L24041720
Date and Time of Incident: 4/20/24 @ 19:39
Location of Incident: 2112 Sherman Blvd
Brief Narrative: GIPD Officers responded to a 2112 Sherman Blvd to an assault call for service. The victim stated the suspect, who resides in the same household, grabbed her and forcibly held scissors to the victim's face, resulting in a minor lacerations that caused the victims pain. While forcibly holding the scissors to the victim's face, the suspect threatened to end the victim's life.

Location of Incident: 1909 W 2nd St
Brief Narrative: Victim reported her 2012 Chevy Camero stolen on 4-20-23 from behind her residence at 1909 W 2nd St. Victim had no suspects and advised the keys were left in the car. Case is open.
