Offense: Drugs
Victim: Incident #: L24061501
Offender: Zachary Hankins
Date and Time of Incident: 6/17/24 @ 10:16
Location of Incident: S Eddy St & S Clark
Brief Narrative: On 06-17-2024 at approximately 10:16 hours, while northbound on Locust St. Officer observed a male operate a toy electric scooter southbound on Locust St. from Phoenix Ave. towards Anderson St. The officer would turn in behind and contact the male near Eddy St and Clark St who was identified as Zachary Hankins via a Colorado ID. A records check showed Zachary had an active and confirmed Fail to Appear Pottawattamie Iowa Warrant for his arrest. Zachary was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a glass-smoking pipe and piece of Xanax pill in Zachary's backpack. Zachary was placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia and a Pottawattamie County warrant.

Offender: Sergio Velasquez
Date and Time of Incident: 6/18/24 @ 00:59
Location of Incident: E 9th & N Kimball
Brief Narrative: A red 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe K1500 was detained due to almost running over officers standing near their patrol vehicle. The male was verbally identified as Sergio Velasquez. Officers observed Sergio to have bloodshot watery eyes. Sergio advised he had not drank alcohol. Sergio advised he does not have a driver's license. Sergio would not step out of the vehicle after being told to step out of the vehicle. Sergio was removed from the vehicle and as Sergio stepped out of the vehicle, Officers observed paraphernalia on the driver seat. Sergio was then detained. Officers located paraphernalia and methamphetamine in the vehicle. A drug recognition evaluation was completed for Sergio. Sergio was determined to be under the influence and unable to operate a motor vehicle. Sergio was arrested for No Operator's License/non-waiverable, DUI-Drug-1st offense, Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Location of Incident: Within City Limits
Brief Narrative: Officers were dispatched to a Grand Island location in reference to a sex offense. Officers made contact with an adult male who advised a possible sex offense occurred. Investigation ongoing.

Brief Narrative: A male reported that another male made threats towards his life. Case is open.

Offense: Burglary
Victim: 66 year old female, 75 year old male Incident #: L24061494
Date and Time of Incident: between 6/16/24 & 6/17/24
Location of Incident: 424 E 15th St
Brief Narrative: A Grand Island resident reported that the latch and padlock on his garage door were damaged possibly by a crowbar. The door casing sustained damage as well. Entry was made into the garage and two jewelry boxes were stolen with an estimated $2,500.00 worth of jewelry inside.
