GIPL Seeking Applicants for Library Board

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library is currently seeking applications from community members interested in serving on the Library Board. Two positions are available, with current board members Elizabeth Stecker and Kari Hooker-Leep completing their terms of service.
Library Board members play a vital role in supporting the library’s mission, helping shape policies, guiding long-term planning, and advocating for the library’s programs and services. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply online at gilibrary.org/page/library-board or pick up an application in person at the library. The deadline to submit an application is Sunday, July 7.
After the application period closes, selected candidates will be invited to interview. Two finalists will be recommended to the Mayor and City Council for approval, with new members beginning their terms in August. This is an exciting opportunity to help influence the future of library services in Grand Island and contribute to a cornerstone of the community.
