Grand Island Brings Home Hardware at State Bowling

(Lincoln, NE) - It took the fifth game for the Grand Island boys bowling team to complete the repeat on Monday night in Lincoln defeating Fremont 3-2 to claim the Class A state bowling title. The Islanders ran through the bracket untouched with wins over Omaha Westside, Bellevue West, and Fremont twice. The Grand Island girl's also bowled for a state title. The Islanders would also face Fremont but fall 3-2 to claim state runner-up. Grand Island reached the finals after falling in the first round to Norfolk and then having to fight their way out of the elimination bracket to reach the championship round.
The Islanders are your Class A Runner-ups. 2nd year program and they fought hard all day and night.
