Grand Island Man Fatally Injured in Drive-Thru Incident
Grand Island, Neb. — A 69-year-old Grand Island man has died from his injuries after being pinned between his vehicle and a building in the drive-thru lane of McDonald’s located at 1317 W 2nd St.
Grand Island Police and Fire Departments dispatched to the scene at 10:23 a.m. and upon arrival found the individual trapped between the vehicle and the east side of the building. The investigation determined the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was also the individual who sustained fatal injuries.
The victim was identified as 69-year-old Michael Dickinson of Grand Island. He was transported to CHI St. Francis Emergency Room, where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin has been notified.
The Grand Island Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation and reconstruction of the scene. The scene was cleared at 12:35 p.m. The Grand Island Police Department was assisted by the Grand Island Fire Department and the Hall County Attorney’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
