Grand Island Public Library to Launch 2025 Summer Reading Program

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library invites children and families to help kick off the 2025 Summer Reading Program during a special event at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31.

The event will take place at the library and is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Nebraska Public Media, the celebration will include free food provided by Wave Pizza and a variety of family-friendly activities. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet representatives from community organizations including the Multicultural Coalition, Early Development Network, Grand Island Police Department and the Nebraska State Fair.

The Summer Reading Program aims to keep young minds engaged and learning during the summer months through reading challenges, special events and fun incentives.
