Hall County Sheriff's Department Investigates Train Fatality

On June 8th, 2025, at approximately 10:11 a.m. Hall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Ninth Street and Railroad Street in Wood River in reference to a train versus pedestrian fatality. Deputies arrived and located a deceased adult male. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim has not been positively identified. An abandoned vehicle with out-of-state plates located nearby is believed to belong to the victim.
