Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Working Fatality Crash

On 10-2-24, at 8:24 PM the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office responded to a straight truck vs. semi crash at mm 334 WB I-80.  The investigation found the straight truck was EB on I-80 and crossed the median striking a WB semi.  The straight truck immediately caught fire as it was blocking both WB lanes.  The driver of the straight truck was pronounced dead at the scene.  We are attempting to identify the driver. The driver of the WB semi was not injured. NSP and Aurora Police Department assisted with crash investigation and traffic control.
