Heartland Events Center to Host “Shop & Skate” Event in July

Grand Island, Neb. — The Heartland Events Center is excited to announce a weekend packed with summer fun during the upcoming Shop & Skate Craft Vendor Show, scheduled for Saturday, July 26 - Sunday, July 27.

From 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of handmade goods, unique gifts and creative wares offered by talented local artisans and vendors.

In addition to the craft fair, guests can enjoy the thrill of roller skating on the Heartland Event Center’s main floor inside the Eihusen Arena. Skaters of all ages are encouraged to bring their own skates and take advantage of this fun, active pastime.

“Ever since the end of Skate Island in the Grand Island community, I wanted to find a way to bring roller skating back to the city,” HEC Executive Director Kyler Tarwater said. “We thought what better way to do it than to add a craft vendor show to the fun and have it right in the heart of the Hall County Fair.”

Admission to the craft show is free, while roller skating costs $7 for adults and $5 for youth ages 18 and under. With the Hall County Fair happening right outside, visitors can easily extend their weekend with even more entertainment and activities nearby.

Whether you’re looking to shop, skate or eat some funnel cake, the Heartland Events Center’s Shop & Skate weekend offers a festive, affordable way to experience summer fun in Grand Island. Mark your calendars and come join the fun! For more information, visit www.heartlandeventscenter.com or contact City of Grand Island Communications Manager Spencer Schubert at [email protected].
