Hinrichs Shines as GI Home Federal takes down Kearney, 7-1

(Grand Island, NE) - Dyllan Hinrichs was superb on the mound for five innings as Grand Island Home Federal would claim a 7-1 win over Kearney Misko Sports on Tuesday night at Ryder Park.
Hinrichs would have 71 pitches on the night with no more than 16 per inning in the five frames, giving up only one hit, a home run in the first inning to Griffin Novacek, to claim his first win of the season. Hinrichs would give up one walk and have three strikeouts on the night.
The GI offense would get to work early in the game, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first. Home Federal would add one run in the second and another run in the fifth. Sam Dinkelman would return from injury to have 3 hits and 2 RBI's to lead the way. Broxton Barrientos and Trent Verplank would also each have two hits.
Kearney, with the loss, is 12-6 and snaps a three-game winning streak and will next be in action on Wednesday, June 18th, hosting Columbus.
Grand Island Home Federal has now won four in a row and will head to Omaha for the Creighton Prep/CWS tournament starting Wednesday, June 18th, with a 7-8 record. Wednesday GI will take on Watertown at 2:30 pm and RVR Seniors at 5:00 pm.
