Huskers 15th in First NCAA NET Rankings

Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team was No. 15 in the first release of the NCAA NET rankings on Monday, Dec. 1.

The Huskers (7-0) are coming off a win over 91-82 win over Virginia in the Emerald Coast Classic Beach Bracket championship in Niceville, Fla., Nov. 25. The Cavaliers, which entered the game No. 1 nationally in both scoring defense and rebound margin, are No. 34 in the first NET rankings.

Nebraska also owns a neutral site win over No. 70 North Dakota State (82-70) in Sioux Falls, S.D., (Nov. 16) to give the Big Red a pair of top-100 NET wins early this season.

The Huskers, who are one of six remaining Big Ten Conference unbeaten teams heading into December, are one of nine Big Ten teams in the NET top 25, while 13 Big Ten teams are ranked in the NET top 50.

Nebraska also ranks among the top 20 in nine other NCAA statistical categories, including No. 1 in winning percentage (1.000), No. 3 in field goal percentage (.537), No. 10 in scoring offense (89.0 ppg), No. 11 in bench points (34.0 ppg), No. 14 in scoring margin (30.6 ppg), No. 14 in assists per game (19.7 apg), No. 14 in average home attendance (5,524), No. 15 in three-point field goal percentage (.385) and No. 18 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.41).

The Huskers, who will shoot for their eighth consecutive win to open the season against Bradley at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (CT), open Big Ten play at NET No. 64 Penn State on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Noon (CT).
