The No. 9 Nebraska softball team went into the bottom of the seventh with a one-run lead, but ultimately fell to the No. 21 Oklahoma State Cowgirls, 2-1, in eleven innings on Thursday evening in Stillwater, Okla.

With the loss, NU fell to 11-5 on the season, while OSU improved to 12-4.

Katelyn Caneda scored the Huskers’ lone run of the day, driven in by a Lauren Camenzind single. Kacie Hoffmann mustered three hits, while Jordy Frahm added two and Jesse Farrell, Ava Kuszak and L. Camenzind had one apiece.

Frahm pitched the first seven innings for the Big Red, allowing seven hits and one run. She added nine strikeouts. Alexis Jensen (5-2) tossed the final three innings and took the loss. She allowed one run and two hits while adding six strikeouts. Ruby Meylan threw 10 innings for OSU and struck out nine, but RyLee Crandall (5-0) ended up grabbing the win.

Nebraska took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth, as Hoffmann singled and Caneda, who pinch ran for her, went to second on a Hannah Coor sac bunt and scored on a L. Camenzind single.

Coor robbed a home run in the bottom of the sixth to keep the Huskers in the lead going into the seventh. NU had it down to the final out in the bottom of the seventh, before an overturned call put a runner on first and a wild pitch advanced her to second. OSU singled through the right side to send the tying run to the plate and the game into extra innings.

The two teams traded scoreless eighth, ninth and tenth innings, but Rosie Davis homered for the Cowgirls to walk it off in the bottom of the 11th inning.
