Michigan man arrested in York County traffic stop
On Feb. 21, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a Sergeant with the York County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near mile marker 346 for a traffic violation. During the stop, the Sergeant observed multiple indicators of impairment as well as that the driver was required to have an ignition interlock on the vehicle he was operating.
The Sergeant did not observe an ignition interlock in the vehicle and a breath sample was requested. The driver provided a preliminary breath sample that was over the legal limit. A consent search was conducted and several cans of open alcohol containers were located.
The driver, Jason C. Martin of Battle Creek, MI, was arrested and lodged at York County Corrections on the following charges:
• Driving under the influence - alcohol - 3rd offense - .15+ (60-6,196)
• Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and without an ignition interlock device (60-6,197.01)
• Willful reckless driving (60-6,214)
