Northwest Basketball Teams Ready For Tipp Off

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest basketball teams will kick off their seasons on Friday night. The Northwest girls' team went 17-9 a season ago, falling in a district final game vs. Gretna East. Key returners for the Vikings include Jolie O'Hara, Libby Loman, Laiken Dorsey, Allie Nelson, and Abby Hudnall. 

The Northwest boys went 17-9 last season. The Vikings lost to Skutt Catholic in the district final round. The Vikings will be a young squad this season, only having one senior in Aiden Arres. Northwest will have plenty of experience with returners, including Jaden Brandt, Blake Wissing, Dawson Urbanski, and Jackob Wald. The Vikings will also look to get key guard play from freshman Chase Sheffield.
