Northwest Soccer Closes Out Regular Season At Seward. Girls Win, Boys Fall

(Seward, NE) - The regular season would come to a close for the Northwest soccer teams on Thursday night, traveling to Seward to take on the Bluejays.
The Northwest girls would win a 7-2 contest. The Vikings would be led by senior Lupe Sanchez with three goals and an assist. Evie Keller would chip in two goals and one assist. Ava Smith would score a goal, and Anna Tibbetts would get one assist in the match. Northwest girls are now 13-2 on the season and will host the B-7 sub-district tournament that starts on Saturday, May 3rd, with Hastings vs Aurora at 10:00 am. The winner of the match will get Northwest on Monday, May 5th at 5:30 pm. The other semi-final match on Monday will feature York vs Seward at 7:30 pm. The B7 sub-district championship between the Monday winners will be Tuesday night at Northwest at 5:30 pm.
The Northwest boys would fall 1-0 to the Bluejays. Seward would score their lone goal of the match in the first half. The Vikings end the regular season on a seven-match losing streak and are 3-10 heading into B-7 sub-district play on Monday, May 5th at Hastings. The Vikings will play Kearney Catholic at 5:00 pm followed by Hastings vs Aurora at 7:00 pm.
