Northwest softball blasts York


(York, NE) - A Tuesday night affair didn't take long for the Northwest Viking softball team as they downed York 12-0 in 3 innings. The Vikings would only send four to the plate in the top of the first but would come up empty. Ava Laurent then struck out all three batters in the bottom half of the first. Northwest would then scorch across nine runs in the top of the 2nd inning. Laurent would then again strike out the next three Duke batters and Northwest would tack on three more runs in the top of the 3rd to lead 12-0 highlighted with a 2-run home run off the bat of Grace Baasch. The Vikings would secure the win in the bottom of the third with two more strikeouts from Laurent and a pop-out to third basement Grace Baasch. The Vikings with the win are now 19-3 and have won six in a row. In the last seven games Northwest has outscored their opponents 77-1.
