Northwest Softball Claims Kearney Invite

(Kearney, NE) - The Northwest softball team cleaned house on Saturday at the Kearney Invite, claiming the championship with three wins on the day.
Northwest would come out and run past Kearney Catholic first 17-0. The Vikings would then defeat rival Aurora 9-1 to advance to the championship and defeat Kearney, 11-1.
Pitchers Libby Loman and Graclyn Simmons combined for 15 strikeouts on the day. Simmons would have 3 against Kearney Catholic. Loman struck out 8 Aurora batters, followed by Simmons striking out another 4 vs Kearney.
Becca Dinkelman would have two home runs on the day. One in the first game of the tournament vs Kearney Catholic and then another in the final game of the day vs Kearney.
Northwest is now 9-2 on the season and will be back in action on Monday, September 8th at Kearney Catholic. Listen live at 6:30 pm on 103.1 FM.
