Northwest Track Squads Claim District Championships

(Holdrege, NE) - After a nearly 3 1/2 hour delay due to thunderstorms rolling through the Holdrege area the B-5 district track meet finally got started on Tuesday. Northwest cleaned house claiming the top spots for both girl's and boys' team titles. The Viking boys scored a 99 for the top spot, followed by Aurora with 96 points, and Hastings checked in 3rd with 90 points. The Northwest girls hauled in 115 points to pick up the championship. Aurora was 2nd with 77 points and Hastings 3rd with 71 points. The state track meet will run for Class A & B on Wednesday, May 17th, and Thursday, May 18th. Classes C & D will follow on Friday, May 19th, and Saturday, May 20th.
