Northwest Volleyball Finishes 2-1 at Hastings Invite

(Hastings, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team finished 2-1 at the Hastings invite on Saturday. The Vikings would defeat Hastings, 25-16, 25-17. Fall to Columbus, 21-25, 21-25, and then defeat Elkhorn 25-14, 25-23. 

In the first match of the day vs the Tigers, Northwest would be led by Ava Janulewicz with 11 kills and Elli Payne with 8 kills. Allie Nelson would have 8 digs, and Kenna Bowman would have 26 set assists. 

Against Columbus, Janulewicz would have 10 kills along with Tessa Scheer and Elli Payne, each with 4 kills apiece. Halle Rice would lead the team in digs with 6. Kenna Bowman would have 20 set assists. 

In the win vs Elkhorn, Janulewicz would have 14 kills, Nasya Anderson would chip in 6 kills, and Kenna Bowman would have 4 kills. Bowman would also have 15 digs in the match to go along with her 20 set assists. Halle Rice tallied up 10 digs. 

Northwest is now 12-6 on the season and will next be in action on Tuesday, September 30th, hosting Adams Central at 7:00 pm.
