Northwest Wraps Up Regular Season With Win Over York

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over the York Dukes. (25-18, 15-25, 25-22, 25-23) It was the third meeting between the two teams in less than a week. Northwest defeated the Dukes twice in the Central Conference Tournament last week. Northwest would defeat York in pool play action 2-1 on Thursday. Then on Saturday in bracket play the Vikings would defeat York again in the championship match 2-0. 

Tuesday night Northwest was led by Ava Janulewicz with 25 kills on 67 attempts and only had 9 errors in the match. The Vikings would get 8 kills from Izzy Burhman, Kelsey Knapp had 7 kills, and Tessa Scheer chipped in 4 kills. Kenna Bowman would have 19 service points and Jacey Knapp with 16 service points. Izzy Burhman had 5 blocks along with 4 blocks from Tessa Scheer. 

Northwest with the win is now 25-8 on the season and will be back in action next Tuesday and Wednesday hosting the B-7 sub-district tournament with Lexington, Hastings, and McCook.
