Online Project Prioritization Exercise for GIAMPO 2050 Long Range Transportation

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (GIAMPO) is inviting community members to participate in an online project prioritization exercise for the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) from Friday, August 22 through Friday, September 12 at www.GI2050.com.
This online exercise will provide an opportunity for the public to give input on regional priorities and ranking for the fiscally-constrained roadway, bicycle and pedestrian, and transit projects to be included in the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan document. This online exercise takes less than ten minutes and allows community members to drag and drop projects they think are important to prioritize for Grand Island's future.
The City of Grand Island and consultant staff will also be hosting a booth for the 2050 LRTP at the Grand Island Area Farmers Market on Saturday, August 23. They will be there to promote the online project prioritization exercise.

MORE ABOUT THE 2050 LRTP
The 2050 LRTP is a 25-year plan that will guide transportation system decision-making for the Grand Island area and will provide a list of transportation projects that meet future regional needs. The LRTP will be developed through public input and a technical analysis of how all modes of transportation perform including highways, streets, transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian facilities. GIAMPO will not only analyze how the system operates today but will also forecast conditions for the next 25 years. The final 2050 LRTP will include strategies, and a prioritized list of projects based on anticipated funding, the results of technical analyses and community preferences of Grand Island area residents.
