Parks and Rec Summer Concert Series Begins Tonight

The Grand Island Parks & Recreation Department will be providing live music this summer. Concerts will take place Thursday evenings from 8-9pm. Concerts will run
June 1st through July 6th at either Grace Abbott Park or Buechler Park.
June 1 – Coed Blue – Grace Abbott Park – 8:00pm-9:00pm – Everyone will walk away dancing
after hearing this band. Their music is electric, covering many different musical styles.
June 8 – Jesse Karr Band – Grace Abbott Park – 8:00pm-9:00pm – A variety of music that will
suit any crowd.
June 15 –Mohanna with Red Shoes – Buechler Park – 8:00pm-9:00pm – A broad variety of
classic songs including some history and humor.
June 22 – Blue Plate Special – Buechler Park - 8:00pm-9:00pm – Their songs give the
audience a feeling for American roots music, covering R&B, jazz-infused Americana, and a
touch of rock.
June 29 TeZZ – Grace Abbott Park – 8:00pm-9:00pm – Seasoned performers on vocals,
keyboard, sax, flute and percussion, playing classics from the American songbook – pop,
swing, jump, and more!
July 6 – OK Sisters – Buechler Park – 8:00pm-9:00pm – Kate Fly and Karen Lee have been
performing acoustic music for over 35 years together in Nebraska along with close friend Martin
Tilley, who plays the blues harmonica. The genre of music they play is blues, country, pop and
Americana.
