Crash in Buffalo County Injured Pedestrian

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car – pedestrian vehicle crash that resulted in injury to a 20 year old man on U.S. Highway 30 approximately 9 miles west of Kearney, NE. The crash was reported at approximately 4:30 PM on Monday.
According to preliminary investigation, a vehicle with trailer was broke down on the side of the highway. Another motorist stopped to render aid. An occupant of that vehicle that stopped to help, a 20 year old Holdrege, NE man, was struck by a another vehicle driven by a 64 year old Elm Creek, NE woman. All vehicles involved were on the westbound portion of the roadway. The injured pedestrian was transported from the scene by LifeNet helicopter to CHI-GSH hospital in Kearney, NE.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Kearney/Buffalo County Accident Investigation Team (FAIT), Kearney Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Kearney Police Department, GSH-CHI Good Samaritan Hospital Paramedics, LifeNet Helicopter, and Nebraska State Department of Transportation.
The investigation is ongoing.
