Nebraska's Britt Prince was named to the list of 20 women's college basketball players on the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Preseason Watch List on Monday, Oct. 27. Now in its 27th year, the Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.
Fan voting for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard Award opens the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 31 at http://www.hoophallawards.com. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the Lieberman Award will be narrowed to 10, before trimming the list to just five players in late February. The five finalists will be presented to the Hall of Fame's selection committee, which will be composed of women's college basketball personnel, media members, head coaches and Hall of Famers.
The 2025 winner of the Lieberman Award was UConn's Paige Bueckers.
