Public Book Fair to be Featured During Go Big Give

Grand Island, Neb. — The Friends of Grand Island Public Library will be hosting a book fair on Thursday, May 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The fair will be in the daily book sale area of the library as well as the Art Alcove. Volunteers will be on site to make a larger than normal selection of used books available during the fair, as well as new merchandise. Shoppers will be able to purchase a t-shirt vinyl for $5 and schedule a time to press it onto a shirt that they purchase elsewhere. Specialty and artisan bookmarks from artists Lillian Cronin and Nancy Jones will also be available for purchase while supplies last.
The Chocolate Bar will be providing drip coffee and treats for patrons that morning, and be sure and stop for lunch with the Hit the Spot food truck in the library parking lot from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. A portion of their sales that day along with proceeds collected by the Friends of the Library from the various activities will be donated to the Grand Island Public Library Foundation for Go Big Give.
The library is hoping to earn the Jack Grange Memorial Challenge Grant for Go Big Give! Jack was a beloved member of the Grand Island Community and the library. His sister Cass has generously agreed to donate an additional $5,000 to the foundation during if the library can raise $10,000!
