Republican Attorney General Mike Hilgers Files for Re-Election to Continue Fighting for Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Conservative Republican Attorney General Mike Hilgers filed for re-election. Hilgers, elected in 2022 as Nebraska’s 33rd Attorney General, is building the best pound for pound attorney general offices in the country.

“Protecting Nebraskans’ constitutional rights is my first priority,” said Attorney General Hilgers. “From taking on the Biden administration’s unconstitutional overreach, the Chinese Communist Party’s threat to our security, to California’s radical attack on the agriculture industry, our team is fighting to defend Nebraskans. I’m seeking re-election to be the conservative fighter who puts Nebraska first.”

Attorney General Hilgers’ success in the courtroom has stopped major overreach in energy and water, stopped California’s attack on the trucking industry, fought the Chinese Communist Party’s spying on Americans, and protected our elections from bad actors.

Prior to taking office as Nebraska’s 33rd Attorney General, Mike Hilgers served six years in the Legislature. During his tenure, Hilgers served as Speaker of the 107th Legislature, Chairman of the Executive Board, and Chairman of the Rules Committee. As a senator, Mike fought to defend the unborn, backed law enforcement, and safeguarded election integrity.

Born and raised in Nebraska, Mike understands the value of raising a family in the Cornhusker state. He and his wife, Heather, are raising their four children outside of Lincoln.

Mike received his degree in economics from Baylor University and law degree from the University of Chicago.

Before becoming Attorney General, Mike was a successful entrepreneur. He built a law firm from his basement in Lincoln, growing it to over 100 lawyers across the country. He was named 4 times to Inc.’s list of 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country. He personally created high-paying jobs in Nebraska, and recruited home-grown Nebraska attorneys and nationally-recruited talented attorneys to Lincoln to be a part of his team.
