RTC inmate death
Mar 4, 2026 / Department of Correctional Services
(Lincoln, Neb.) – Lonnie Patman #37644, age 77, died yesterday at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC).
Patman’s sentence began on January 27, 1987. He was serving a life sentence out of Douglas County for first degree murder.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Patman was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
