Senator Allegedly Makes Inappropriate Comment at Nebraska Legislature

Friday’s Nebraska legislative inaction took a back seat to another apparent case of at least an inappropriate comment and possibly sexual harassment. Senator Megan Hunt addressed a conversation under the balcony with Senator Brian Hardin of Gering.

The discussion took place after Hunt introduced an amendment to Hardin’s LB538 , a bill which addresses discrimination against Jews. The bill was later passed over by  Speaker John Arch. 

Several senators expressed support for Hunt after the revelation. 

Before the incident came to light, Hastings senator Dan Lonowski lamented the lack of action at the Unicameral.

One item that did pass to begin the day was LB365A from Grand Island Senator Dan Quick.
