Sodbusters Start 3-0

After an offensive struggle on Saturday, the Sodbusters racked up 12 runs on 16 hits and held off Spearfish 12-9 on Sunday.

Hastings trailed 2-0 after a half inning, but scored multiple runs in the first four frames to take a 9-2 lead. Drew Vega went 4-6 with three RBI and one run scored. Luke Caussey and Jaden Shabry both tripled, knocked in two, and scored a run. Chase Phillips and Ethan Foley each had two hits.

Ethan Marshall worked the first six innings, allowing only one earned run on five hits to pick up the victory.

Monday's game has been postponed and will be made up as part of a double header in Spearfish next month.
