St Leo's Coach Drive is On

St. Leo’s Parish with the Human Concerns committee is happy to announce its 21st annual coat giveaway, an ongoing tradition of service and warmth for the community. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, October 23, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. at St. Leo’s Parish, 2410 S. Blaine Street, Grand Island.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of donors, the parish collected 2,803 coats and distributed 2,443 coats free of charge to children, adults, and families in need. Leftover coats were donated to the Church of Christ for their weekly free clothing distribution.
The annual giveaway provides coats, gloves, mittens, and scarves of all sizes, ensuring that no one in the community has to face the cold winter months unprepared.
How to help: Donations of new or gently used coats, gloves, and mittens are urgently needed. Items may be dropped off at the following locations:
Hyvee
Super Saver (2nd street and State street)
U-Save Pharmacy (Webb Rd and Locust Street)
Tabitha at Prairie Commons
Centris Credit Union

“Knowing I can count on St. Leo’s to meet the needs of winter coats for those who desperately need them, brings relief as the colder weather enters in. Not everyone has a warm place to call home. It’s imperative that we are about our shared humanity.” Bre Crow, Housing Navigator at Hope Harbor
St. Leo’s parish invites everyone to join in this effort-weather by donating a coat, volunteering, or spreading the word. Together, we can continue this tradition of warmth, compassion, and community support.
