State Fair Has Chicken Giveaway

The Nebraska State Fair distributed 179 broiler chickens to area non-profits. These birds were exhibited by youth at the Aksarben Stock Show. Following the event, the Nebraska State Fair (who coordinates the Stock Show) paid to have the animals butchered and then donated them to 12 different Heartland United Way non-profits.

"This tradition, of donating the Aksarben broilers, is one our team feels strongly about. We love having the opportunity to impact the lives of those in our area, especially those battling food security." said  Courtney Glock, State Fair Marketing Director
