Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's golf team shot a 54-hole total of 955 to place eighth at the 2025 MIAA Championships at Meadowlark Hills G.C.

The 12-team event began on Saturday with a practice round with the 68 golfers battling strong winds until ideal conditions Tuesday. The average score on the par 71 course (5,908 yards) was 82.06, 83.35 and 80.93 over the three days.

UNK turned in scores of 325, 322 and 308 to be just six strokes out of fifth place. No. 21 Central Missouri ran away with the team title (916) with Northwest Missouri rallying to finish second (938).

Note teams were allowed this year to sub in their individual player to be a scorer. Both UNK and No. 26 Rogers State did that Tuesday & RSU on Monday; "Scoreboard" cannot show those changes in the results. Thus, RSU shot a 949 (310-320-319), as did both Washburn and Missouri Southern, with UNK at a 308 on Tuesday.

Colombian senior Juliana Botero Molina (73; 37-36) and Kansas sophomore Liz Lyons (74; 35-39) had two strong rounds today to crack the Top 11. Botero had three birdies and seven straight pars on the back nine with Lyons having birdies on each of the first three holes. Botero (233) and Lyons (234) tied eighth and 11th, respectively.

Northeastern State's Sam Maceli (76; 39-37) rallied past UCM's Libby Green (75; 30-45) to earn medalist honors by a stroke, 229-230. Like Green, RSU's Lydia Sitorus was 17-over par as well.

Next, Minnesota freshman Calie Dockter tied for 31st (243; 77-84-82), Texas sophomore Sofia Wildeman was 35th (244; 87-76-81), and Arizona senior Sophia Coleman tied for 38th (246; 83-83-80). Wildeman was the individual over the first two days with Kansas sophomore Claire Berquist finishing 59th (263; 89-86-88) and the individual on Tuesday.

The Lopers are in good shape to qualify for the now 18-team NCAA Central Regionals May 5-7 in Edmond, Okla. Selections for the first phase of the NCAA Championships will be announced on Monday, April 28 at www.ncaa.com.
